  • How do Botox injections work?

Botox injections work by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses so the muscles relax and wrinkles are smoothed out. Treatment is ideal for crow’s feet, forehead furrows, laughter lines and lines between the eyebrows.

  • What is Botox?

Botox is a trade name for botulinum toxin A, a purified protein. In 1962, American doctors started using it to treat twitchy eyes when they noticed that, in the process, crow’s feet vanished. It is now used for a variety of conditions from muscle spasms and headaches to excessive sweating and, of course, wrinkles.

  • How long do Botox treatments last?

The Botox treatment is temporary, meaning it has to be repeated on a regular basis to remain effective. You will see its smoothing effect begin gradually anywhere from 24 hours to three days after placement, and the full results within three weeks. Regularly treating lines and wrinkles with Botox can help delay new lines from appearing.
